The First Thai restaurant to open in Park City, Utah

Bangkok Thai has been a staple on the Main Street dining scene since 1994 before our charming mountain resort town became a world-class destination. We are Park City’s only fine dining Thai restaurant. After 25 years serving locals and visitors, the restaurant was purchased by new owners who were passionate about Thai cuisine and improving the experience while also preserving the best aspects of Bangkok Thai’s history. Having welcomed Bangkok Thai native Chef Wichayanee (“Yanee) Chayangkura and new General Manager Mark McMahon, we have been able to fulfill our vision of warm hospitality coupled with authentic Thai cuisine prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients.


A native of Bangkok, Thailand, Chef Wichayanee (“Yanee) Chayangkura developed an early passion for cooking. As an only child, she had a nanny whose mother was a chef to the Thai Royal Family. Yanee had a close relationship with her and learned about food and cooking from her. Her favorite childhood toys were a knife, cucumber and long beans, which she carved into exquisite, edible masterpieces. Appearing on cooking shows, having recipes featured in cookbooks, and being a chef at five-star resorts, including Dusit Thani Guam Resort are just some of Chef Yanee’s notable accomplishments. She also earned an MBA degree from Southern New Hampshire University. Chef Yanee first came to the U.S. as a student in 1989. She later returned in 2008, and came to Park City, Utah from Florida. A distinct honor, the Thai Embassy in the United States has invited Yanee to cook for visiting members of the Royal Family and various dignitaries. Bangkok Thai’s chef since 2019, Chef Yanee embraces the privilege to delight guests with her inspired Thai Cuisine. She artfully creates traditional dishes as well as more modern cuisine, incorporating inspiration from cherished family recipes.

Not only do we aim to transport guests to the magic of Thailand, but we surprise and delight them with an expansive, diverse wine list. Wine Spectator Magazine regularly acknowledges our wine selection with distinctions, and recognizes it as one of the top wine lists in Utah.
